Hi all,
Changes since 20090710:
Changed trees: ia64 (now under the care of Fenghua Yu)
This tree fails to build for powerpc allyesconfig (final link problem).
The resierfs-bkl tree gained a conflict against Linus' tree.
The net tree gained a conflict against the net-current tree.
The wireless tree lost its conflicts.
The rr tree lost its conflicts.
The ttydev tree lost a conflict.
The percpu tree gained a conflict against the sh tree.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have created today's linux-next tree at
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/sfr/linux-next.git
(patches at
http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/sfr/linux-next/). If you
are tracking the linux-next tree using git, you should not use "git pull"
to do so as that will try to merge the new linux-next release with the
old one. You should use "git fetch" as mentioned in the FAQ on the wiki
(see below).
You can see which trees have been included by looking in the Next/Trees
file in the source. There are also quilt-import.log and merge.log files
in the Next directory. Between each merge, the tree was built with
a ppc64_defconfig for powerpc and an allmodconfig for x86_64. After the
final fixups (if any), it is also built with powerpc allnoconfig (32 and
64 bit), ppc44x_defconfig and allyesconfig (minus
CONFIG_PROFILE_ALL_BRANCHES) and i386, sparc and sparc64 defconfig.
These builds also have CONFIG_ENABLE_WARN_DEPRECATED,
CONFIG_ENABLE_MUST_CHECK and CONFIG_DEBUG_INFO disabled when necessary.
Below is a summary of the state of the merge.
We are up to 132 trees (counting Linus' and 19 trees of patches pending for
Linus' tree), more are welcome (even if they are currently empty).
Thanks to those who have contributed, and to those who haven't, please do.
Status of my local build tests will be at
http://kisskb.ellerman.id.au/linux-next . If maintainers want to give
advice about cross compilers/configs that work, we are always open to add
more builds.
Thanks to Jan Dittmer for adding the linux-next tree to his build tests
at http://l4x.org/k/ , the guys at http://test.kernel.org/ and Randy
Dunlap for doing many randconfig builds.
There is a wiki covering stuff to do with linux-next at
http://linux.f-seidel.de/linux-next/pmwiki/ . Thanks to Frank Seidel.

Odd, that code has not changed at all.
Did we just loose the big kernel lock somehow?

I dunno. Probably some header file cleanup thing. :(
Looks like only linux/smp_lock.h #defines it, but a driver shouldn't
need to #include that file IMHO.

Adding
#include <linux/smp_lock.h>
does fix the build error, but I don't like it.

Jean just sent me a patch fixing this, so I'll queue it up for the next
round of patches to go to Linus.

A working Blackfin gcc port should always be avaliable at:
http://blackfin.uclinux.org/gf/project/toolchain/frs/?action=FrsReleaseBrowse&frs_package_id=127
We normally build up toolchains for *.i386.rpm & *.i386.tar.bz2. If you need
anything else let us know.
All the defconfigs in arch/blackfin/configs/ should be maintained, and
working - if not we can quickly fix them - if you wanted to pick one -
BF537-STAMP_defconfig would be a good one.

Hi all,
Not unexpectedly, we got some conflicts with the arm defconfig files
today ...
Changes since 20100712:
New tree: omfs
The arm tree gained a conflict against Linus' tree.
The s5p tree gained 2 conflicts against Linus' tree.
The tegra tree gained a conflict against the arm tree.
The genesis tree gained 3 conflicts against Linus' tree.
The vfs tree still has its build failure for which I applied a merge fix
patch.
The i2c quilt series failed to import so I used the version from
next-20100712.
The rr tree gained a conflict against the sound tree.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have created today's linux-next tree at
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/next/linux-next.git
(patches at http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.6/next/ ). If you
are tracking the linux-next tree using git, you should not use "git pull"
to do so as that will try to merge the new linux-next release with the
CONFIG_PROFILE_ALL_BRANCHES - this fails its final link) and i386, sparc
and sparc64 defconfig. These builds also have
CONFIG_ENABLE_WARN_DEPRECATED, CONFIG_ENABLE_MUST_CHECK and
CONFIG_DEBUG_INFO disabled when necessary.
Below is a summary of the state of the merge.
We are up to 165 trees (counting Linus' and 22 trees of patches pending
for Linus' tree), more are welcome (even if they are currently empty).

Hi all,
Changes since 20120712:
The ext4 tree still has its build failure so I used the version from
next-20120709.
The tty tree gained a build failure, so I used the version from
next-20120712.
I have still reverted 3 commits from the signal tree at the request of the
arm maintainer.
The arm-soc tree lost a conflict.
The clk tree gained a conflict against the arm-soc tree.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have created today's linux-next tree at
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/next/linux-next.git
(patches at http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/next/ ). If you
are tracking the linux-next tree using git, you should not use "git pull"
to do so as that will try to merge the new linux-next release with the
CONFIG_PROFILE_ALL_BRANCHES - this fails its final link) and i386, sparc,
sparc64 and arm defconfig. These builds also have
CONFIG_ENABLE_WARN_DEPRECATED, CONFIG_ENABLE_MUST_CHECK and
CONFIG_DEBUG_INFO disabled when necessary.
Below is a summary of the state of the merge.
We are up to 197 trees (counting Linus' and 26 trees of patches pending
for Linus' tree), more are welcome (even if they are currently empty).
Thanks to those who have contributed, and to those who haven't, please do.
Status of my local build tests will be at
http://kisskb.ellerman.id.au/linux-next . If maintainers want to give
advice about cross compilers/configs that work, we are always open to add
more builds.
Thanks to Randy Dunlap for doing many randconfig builds. And to Paul
Gortmaker for triage and bug fixes.
There is a wiki covering stuff to do with linux-next at
http://linux.f-seidel.de/linux-next/pmwiki/ . Thanks to Frank Seidel.
